Kindness
Before you know what kindness really is
you must lose things,
feel the future dissolve in a moment
like salt in a weakened broth.
What you held in your hand,
what you counted and carefully saved,
all this must go so you know
how desolate the landscape can be
between the regions of kindness
- A poem by Naomi Shihab Bye (1952).

come back
Come back alive
Even if you must talk
Of lives' transience.
- படித்ததில் பிடித்தது ( a poem I read recently and liked). Author not sure.

Andhra Bank
An end of an era today.
Starting today , the bank which I knew as Andhra Bank would become part of Union bank. It was part of the current government to amalgamate banks to reduce their losses and increase 'efficiencies'.
Daddy spent 34 years with this bank . I had lot of fond memories with this bank..
I fondly the time at Andhra Bank , Tuticorin , the many late nights my father spent during closing.
The time I spent at Miryalaguda and getting my first brush of Telugu .
Daddy's transfer to Coimbatore was the start of one of the most enjoyable and fruitful periods for our family..I still miss those years.
After I moved to Hyderabad for work, my parents had to travel to many places before retiring from Chennai.
I am going to miss the Andhra Bank diary which Daddy used to get for me even now when I visit home for the New Year. And will miss having the AndhraBank calendar which remains a constant feature
My wishes to all the employees of AndhraBank who are now moving to their new home in Union Bank!
May you continue to serve the public and improve their lives.
